ÉKTOR RIVERA: VISUAL ARTIST
Born in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, obtained a Bachelors Degree in Image and Graphic Design from the School of Fine Arts in Puerto Rico, Magna Cum Laude.
For many years, worked as an independent graphic artists in various companies dedicated to entertainment; designing concepts in large format for buses, banners, logos, musical productions, graphics for tv, movies and theater.
His first individual exhibit was Persuasions (2007), he explored the meaning of imperceptible emotions through figures.
His most recent solo exhibition, Puerto Rico in Mi (2019), was showed at the prestigious Museum of the Americas of Puerto Rico, obtaining great attention from the press media and the general public.

From Broadway to advertisement campaigns
2019 Ektor Rivera debuted in England theatre, performing the leading role of Juan Perón in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s EVITA, featured at the Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre in London. The show was directed by Jamie Lloyd.
In 2016-18, he initiated his Broadway career in the leading role of Emilio Estefan for the musical On Your Feet!, featured at the Marquis Theatre, New York. The musical is based on the life and music of Gloria Estefan and her husband Emilio Estefan. During this period, he performed in various concerts and special events like the Tony Awards Billboard’s Series, CBS Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and the renowned New Year Eve’s celebration, Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, held at New York City’s Time Square for ABC.
2017 He participated as one of the stars to dance in the popular tv program Mira Quien Baila for Univision, becoming one of the finalists, representing Puerto Rico and the foundation Cabecitas Rapadas (‘Little Shave Heads’), non-profit entity for cancer patients in Puerto Rico.
Ektor was recognized as one of the Ambassadors of the Puerto Rican National Parade in New York.
He was the MC for La Musa Awards – The Latin Songwriters Hall of Fame in Miami.
2014 He joined the cast of Broadway and Beyond, responsible for the opening of the Walt Disney Theater at the Dr. Phillips Center in Orlando, Florida.
2005-2016 He was part of Objetivo Fama cast in its first edition, a singing competition show presented with great success on Puerto Rican television. Later, he acted in musicals, movies, plays and tv series, such as: Startup, Che, Godspell, Hairspray, Fame, The Outsiders, Rent, El Milagro de la Tortilla, Barrio Arriba, Barrio Abajo, La Ratonera, High School Musical, Con el agua hasta el cuello, Lucia, Ignacio y otras historias, Nene lindo, Por Carambola, Pasión de mil Amores, Incógnita and Tercera.
His image was used for international brands in advertisement campaigns, including commercial integrations for the Jimmy Kimmel Live Show for ABC in Hollywood, California.
2012 He was selected by Jennifer López and Marc Anthony to perform as a main singer in the cast for Q’Viva the Chosen! at the Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.
2011 He collaborated as host for the musical program Yo Canto (I sing) for Telemundo.
2009-2015 Together with Marjorie Ramírez, he hosted Aventura Científica (Scientific Adventure) for SITV (Channel 40), a program that received the Environmental Excellency Award from the Environmental Protection Agency. It also received an Emmy Award as the best environmental program in 2015.
